Services that complement one another
The three projects have distinct activities on the same grounds. They can share medical services, the kitchen, laundry, building and grounds maintenance, and administration. Shared services reduce costs and support a sense of community.
How the centres developed
The association was established in 2004. The adult Hospice centre opened in 2006, and the children’s centre in 2016.
Since August 2016, children and their families have been able to receive care at the children’s centre for 21 days to three months. Care includes pain treatment, wound care, respiratory therapy, and psychological support for children and parents. We welcome children from across Romania.
Funding and support
Since the care home was established in 1994, Germany has covered a large share of its costs through the Federal Ministry of the Interior. Further support comes from residents’ pensions, a Romanian state subsidy under Law 34/1998, and donations. Donations also help pay for special nutrition, medicines, and Hospice running costs.

Previously published funding shares
The German-language description of Hospice care gives about 35% from public health insurance and 65% from donations. The Romanian-language description of the three centres gives about 40% from the National Health Insurance House and 60% from sponsorship for the children’s Hospice. These figures come from descriptions in different languages, publication periods, and funding scopes. Contact the association for the current model.
